ARTISAN ASIA has developed relationships with other local manufacturing organizations, sourcing many residue materials that were destined for incineration, such as demolished teak stumps , salvaged traditional wooden fishing boats,
sea shells discarded from the food industry, residue leather and rescued sonokeling, a dark Javanese wood
To do our bit in protecting our forest, ARTISAN ASIA try as much as possible by using the concept of "reclaim" old pieces

of a product, be it parts of traditional house beams, sailing boats and so on. ARTISAN ASIA then reconditioned the appearance but keeping its original existences
What Does "Reclaimed" Mean?
All of our reclaimed teak wood furniture is constructed from slab of wood that has been collected from ancient fallen timbers around java island. Each piece of furniture is hand crafted to enhance the wood's natural elegance. The reason "RECLAIMED" is important in building furniture is not only the beauty of old wood and the durability of it, but in knowing that you are not adding to deforestation. Reclaimed wood is salvaged from the Forrest which helps make way for new growth.
Reclaimed Wood Types
The slab table depths are one piece and average 3.5" in thickness. The types of wood used are teak, rose, ebony, and enterolobium. No color enhancements are applied, only a clear finish is sometimes applied to keep the furniture as natural as possible.
